dried up

Grass-dry

Word: “Do not not let evil people put fear in your heart. Do not envy success of wrongdoers, either. They will soon dry up like the grass. And even if they thrive like green plants, they will soon die.” (Psalm 37:1-2)
Word: Life is too short to allow yourself to be ruled by fear of what others can do to you or the fear that you may not gain in life what others have acquired. Better to walk in faith, not fear; to do the right thing, and not the wrong. How big a part does fear play in your perspective of life? How do you fight fear with faith?

  1. Hey! That’s my yard!

Just kidding. Good stuff Dave. It is funny how we judge ourselves by what others have achieved. When we see others who have more, we say, “Hey, they’ve made it!” I however find that the more I focus on what I don’t have, the less I focus on what I do have. And what is so amazing is that I don’t really deserve what I have now! I read a sign once displayed outside of a Catholic church. It said, “Has anyone caught up with the Joneses yet?” We should not let a fear of not “measuring up” in the eyes of others cloud our spiritual sight. There is truly only treasure we should strive to build – and we know what it is.
