your pledge and allegiance

Word: “… they profess allegiance to another king, named Jesus.” (Acts 17:7 NLT)
Wonder: How do strangers perceive the priorities in your life – that you’re deeply patriotic or that you’re full of faith that God is in control?” What do you get most excited about and what causes the passion in your heart to swell most of all – the state of our nation or Jesus as your Lord? If your life was brought to court, of which is there greater evidence to convict you – patriotism or discipleship? Which do you think about and talk most about – our nation’s blessings or the salvation of your soul? To whom is your allegiance greater – Christ or your country?

Word: “… they profess allegiance to another king, named Jesus.” (Acts 17:7) “… for in baptism you pledge a clear conscience toward God.” (1 Peter 3:21)

Wonder: What do strangers perceive as your life’s priority – that you’re deeply patriotic or that you’re full of faith that God is in control? What do you get most excited about and what causes the passion in your heart to swell – your nation’s blessings or the Lord Jesus, the one who dispenses blessings? If your life was brought to court, of which is there greater evidence to convict you – patriotism or discipleship? Which do you think about and talk most about – our nation’s good things or the salvation of your soul? To whom is your greater allegiance – Christ or country?

  1. To whom is our allegiance? Certainly it is to Christ and its right there in the Pledge, “…one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.” For God is creator and all things, nations and people are under His control.

  2. The day will come when there will be only one citizensihip: the celestial one.

Meanwhile more than attemp to be arrogant because many persons have this citizenship, I encourage to the people of this country to appreciate the blessings that you receive by live here. ( I can easy write a list of 20 that are lost only crossing the border)

It’s important to recognize that these blessings come from God, and that should be cared and preseved.

    Nice picture.
