a cross and tomb

wood-rugged

Word: “… they took him down from the cross and laid him in a tomb. But God raised him from the dead!” (Acts 13:29-30)

Wonder: “In that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine, a wondrous beauty I see. For ’twas on that old cross, Jesus suffered and died, to pardon and sanctify me. So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross, till my trophies at last I lay down. I will cling to the old rugged cross, and exchange it some day for a crown.” What does the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ mean to you?

  1. No fear (as the commercial for a shoe says) is what the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ means to me. I cannot image the ancient Israelites looking forward to a savior. I get the benefit of looking back at something unbelievable made believable by God through His Son. As time goes by and more years pass since the resurrection, Satin has attacked it to the point of making it unbelievable again. You do not have to look hard to see God in the world. A newborn baby, the morning sunrise, a hurricane, or the gentle breeze on a summer afternoon. All working like clockwork in a world populated by people who write it all off to chance. There is no “intelligent design” there is no “big bang”. Faith is what make the 24 hour – 6 day creation of everything believable. If you don’t believe Gen 1, 2, and 3, when do you start believing the whole Bible. Just as mysterious as the beginning was so will be the ultimate destruction of it all. “Our God is an awesome God” when are we going to trust Him and forget all the hog wash science wants to dish out. We should never forget that a “theory” is just that, a”theory”, let’s not turn theory into fact when it is a theory. i.e.
    The theory of evolution
    The big bang theory
