be glad

Word: “The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and blossom. … it will burst into bloom; it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy. … they will see the glory of the Lord, the splendor of our God. Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts, ‘Be strong, do not fear; your God will come …'” (Isaiah 35:1-4a TNIV)

Wonder: What parts of creation do you notice these days that seem to shout out the glory and splendor of its Creator? What thoughts do they cause to bloom in your mind?

  1. The Lord has given us ALL things to rejoice in, but I too love the bright vivid colors of spring. I can just stand and “drink in” the sounds and sights of the outdoors. I am so grateful that God wanted us to have beauty in our lives to remind us that He and He alone is the Creator. Pikes Peak in Colorado, Mt. Rainier in Washington, the Grand Canyon— all given to us for our pleasure, but also to remind us that this will pass away in the end. Our reminder here on earth is that there is something more awesome, never ending just waiting in heaven for us as long as we remain faithful and true. Thank you David for giving us this reminder. 2. Just as soon as this page downloaded and I saw the bright pink Azaelia, it took me back to my house in Port Neches where at this time of year the front of our little house was beautifully decorated with the flowers. This picture reminds me of my mother as I am reminded every Spring of her life on earth. Mom has seen the glory of God radiate as beautiful as the flower that adorned her earthly home. Spring is a time of renewal and life. We see it everywhere. The first spring after Hurricane Ike and plants are showing signs of living again. Just as our loved ones who have passed away, live again in Heaven with Jesus who rose on the third day, one day we will also live again with them.
