do not be afraid

“Do not be afraid. We live in a time when this biblical refrain cannot be repeated too often. … Among all the things the church has to say to the world today, perhaps this is the most important. … The path out of fear is not power but trust, not strength but vulnerability before God. … Although we may be experiencing a heightened level of fear and insecurity, the truth is that our world is no more dangerous now than 50 years ago, 100 years ago, or 1,000 years ago.”
