Read Ephesians 1:15-23.
If you’re a part of MoSt Church, you most likely heard me preach a sermon from this very passage two weeks ago this past Sunday (Aug. 5), so I won’t spend much time with this text here except to recall the main point of it all and to ask a couple of questions.
Here Paul prays for Christians to receive God’s Spirit of wisdom and revelation – for the light bulb to turn on in their heart – so that they will never forget that their objective in life ever remains constant – to “know him better” (vs.17b). Christians who are enlightened in this way are brimming with hope, genuinely humbled by the inheritance God has in store for them and experience the touch of “his incomparably great power” in their lives.
Now – do these words describe you as a disciple of Jesus Christ? Or are you still walking around in the dark?
Heavenly Father, ever send your good Spirit again and again into my spirit and turn the light on to the fact that all my real hope, wealth and power are found in you. This is I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
