Christ in you

Read Colossians 1:24-27.

The secret’s out now! It’s out of the box and there’s no way to put it back in! The one thing everyone has ever wanted to know is known. And in case you missed it, here it is again: the way to God, the One who is the way to God, is as close as you are, indeed, he is “in you,” Christian!

What that means is this. If there is Someone who makes sense of all this world’s suffering and who makes all the suffering worthwhile, it is Jesus, the One who is the Christ. If there is hope in this old world, it is found in Jesus Christ. If there “life” and  “glory” after this life here in earth, it’s found in Christ Jesus.

The mystery need not be a “mystery” anymore to anyone. God is interested in you. So interested, he wants to send his Own to you – literally “into” you. The One is the meaning of life and our hope after death has arrived and He can be as near to you as you’ll let Him be.

He’s not just for a select few with whom God plays favorites. He’s not just for those who have some special insights or secret knowledge. And he’s certainly not just for those of a certain background or ethnic. Rather, he is for every person; every person who kneels to Him and serves Him as the master of their life. To those, those he calls “Christians,” he is indeed “the hope of glory.”

Heavenly Father, thank you, thank you, thank you, for cluing me into the Secret of the universe. Thank you for not keeping this Secret from the universe. Thank you for making sense of life by bringing to light your Son’s life. Thank you for bringing your Secret “into” my life, into me. Praise be to you, my God, in the name of Jesus Christ! Amen.
