Read 2 Corinthians 5:6-10.
Q. Some say that we can “have our best life now.” How do you respond to that?
A. “… as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord.” (vs.6)
Q. Can you tell me, in as few words as possible, just exactly how a Christian is supposed to make their way through this dark world?
A. “We live by faith, not by sight.” (vs.7)
Q. When a faithful Christian dies, where do they go?
A. “… away from the body and at home with the Lord.” (vs.8)
Q. What would you say is to be the Christian’s goal in life?
A. “… we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it.” (vs.9)
Q. I’ve heard it said that Christians will get to “skip” the judgment. The reasoning goes that since Christ has purchased Christians’ freedom, there is, therefore, no way a one of them could ever be lost. Hence, there is no need for judgment of Christians. Is that true?
A. “… we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that everyone may receive what is due them …” (vs.10a)
Heavenly Father, I praise you for giving me the knowledge, and the confidence that comes from such knowledge, to answer directly from your Spirit some of the most important and personal questions I have about my existence. Thank you, Father, for revealing yourself to me through the words of Your Spirit and in the name of your Son, Jesus. Amen.
