Two texts make up the bulk of today’s reading on anxiety and worry: Matthew 6:25-34 (parallel to Luke 12:22-31) and Luke 2:41-52. The passage in Luke (Luke 2) concerns the worry of Jesus’ parents when Jesus turns up missing on their trip home from Jerusalem. Can you be counted on to be found in your Father’s house?
If you want to read more instances of where Jesus addressed the subject of anxiety and worry, read: Luke 12:11-12; 21:14-15 and John 14:27. And by the way, don’t let your worries get the best of you; remember, Moses started out as a basket case. 🙂
