computing’s future

How would you like to have a very capable, but easy-to-use word processor without having to purchase, install or download any software at all? What if it and all your documents were stored online? You could access them anywhere, anytime you had Internet access and you’d never had to be concerned about losing anything due to a problem with your PC. Does that sound interesting?

That’s precisely where Google is headed with the acquisition this week of Writely. Take a tour of Writely or register to become a part of the Writely project. Consider that along with Google’s development of total online storage (the “Gdrive” you might have heard about) and you can see how in the relatively near future you’ll be able to do nearly anything online with your PC functioning primarily as just a “terminal” to get you connected and to input data.
